Alex Pall, Andrew Taggart, and The Chainsmokers

Momentum is quite the mercurial phenomena, isn’t it? Once a group attains high levels of success, they just as nearly lose it all if they take a break just to catch their breath and try to get back into the game. For Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart of The Chainsmokers, this age-old dilemma is near the forefront of their mental operations. Becoming irrelevant is not something that the pair has on their agenda if they can help it in the least, as they have seen many bands go on tour for the money only to burn themselves out creatively in the years to come, and ultimately end up forgotten about or replaced by another equally hungry (or hungrier) group of artists; Such is the nature of highly competitive music markets.

Taking in these sage wisdoms and failings of their musical ancestors, Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall of the band called “The Chainsmokers” have made damn sure that they will absolutely never be labeled as a weak one-hit-wonder band. Even though the duo’s most recent blazing hot sinle, “Closer”, is dancing near the top of the Billboards, they already have produced not one or two but three solid hits. Worth noting is that “Don’t Let Me Down”’s YouTube video has 1.1 Billion views, currently.

This duo firstly started off the relationship normally, not unlike how many artists do today. Alex Pall used to DJ (in New York) in order to get more money and have fun outside of his job. He was actually paired up with someone else in The Chainsmokers, but this did fade away until Andrew came along. So then comes this guy Andrew, who is also an EDM DJ but he’s actually from rural Maine. He has an equally fierce drive, he also has the looks to make all the girls go crazy, and he has strong taste for electronic artists that don’t disappoint Alex.

The two got along so well that instead of casually meeting once a week at gigs, they eventually committed 12 hour days together to build electronic music. It eventually got so serious that Alex had to give up his job and dive straight into the band / music full time. The rest of the story, as we know, is currently history in the making.
